As an artist, it is essential that you keep your instrument in pristine condition. Most players seem to be bothered about the cleanliness of his instrument with the often enough. If you rely on your instrument for a living can be a different view. It's a bit cut throat out there and the difference between having a pure sound quality and a dull sound could mean the difference interesting to get the gig or not. Not to mention the health problems that might develop.

Cornets evolved from basically a post horn, which eventually developed curly in the shape we see today. The valves have added notes that allowed play more and dexterity of the results. It is the manufacture of care and doing manual labor in a cartridge that performs well. Take care of your instrument and will not disappoint.

There is nothing worse than being in the middle of a show and their valves or slides begin to stick. It can ruin a perfectly good performance.

Cleaning the horn should only take 10 to 15 minutes of your time and the results are more beneficial to your game. You will be amazed at the Gunge "" appears out of the tubes after a good cleaning.

So let's begin. Run a warm bath - Yes a bath, and put a small amount of soap in it. Check with your information product or its manufacturer's website to make sure before use. Pull all the valves and exit of the horn and submerged everywhere water - Soak for 30 minutes. That was easy! Note - you may need to disconnect the "triggers" slide valve first and third they are fitted.

You will need a flexible cleaning pull through brush, valve casing brush, and brush nozzle. It will also have to polish silver and two polishing cloths, lint free, valve oil and slide grease. (I use a petroleum jelly)

Now is the time forcibly put through brush for the job. Gently feed in the tubes of the horn and pull through brush, beware of Gunge ". Do this a few times and then go up the tubes of the trumpet out with tap water until it runs clear. Do it now to all the slides and removable.

Now using the brush valve that we need to clean the valve housing. Simply press the brush and a couple of times and everything should be fine. Valves are turning to self themselves. First you need to clean the inner surfaces of the holes. You can also use the pull through this, but be careful not to scratch them. Using Silver polish one and lint-free cloth, now clean the outer surface of the valves, dry and polish with a clean cloth separately.

Now the slides. Using again the silver polish cleaning of the slides. If your horn is lacquered type (brass looking) DO DOT use silver polish on the external surfaces. It attacks the lining. Finally clean the inner surface of the valve covers, both up and down again with a soft cloth.

After all the internals of the horn are clean, its time now to clean the external surfaces, again remember if if the type of lacquer only soap and water cleanup. Otherwise, the silver use your metal surfaces.

Now it's time to reassemble the horn, the valves of oil and 1st and 3rd valve slides, and grease the slides. If you have on your instrument triggers on the slides of the first and third is better to use valve oil on them while moving faster.
